Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has stressed the state guarantees the protection and realization of rights to the self-determination of the Crimean Tatar people as part of Ukraine.

“From the government of Ukraine and personally me I want to assure the Crimean Tatar people, its esteemed leaders Mustafa Jemilev and Refat Chubarov: Ukrainian people are with you. Ukraine guarantees the protection and realization of the inalienable right to the self-determination of the Crimean Tatar people as part of the sovereign and independent Ukrainian state, our state recognizes the Mejlis as the authority of the Crimean Tatar people,” Yatseniuk told the participants in the second World Congress of Crimean Tatars.

According to Yatsenyuk, “the world will never accept the occupation of Crimea,” the attempts to break international law, the violation of all the principles of the Helsinki Final Act.
