BRUSSELS - Ukraine's Ambassador to the EU Kostiantyn Yeliseyev has stated the European Union as a whole has positively estimated the parliamentary elections held in Ukraine and is ready to continue support Kyiv, in particular in financial terms.

“I’ve just had a meeting with the leadership of the financial unit of the European Commission, which confirmed the readiness of the EU to accelerate the issue of 760 million euro to Ukraine as part of the current macro-financial assistance programs,” the official said.

The ambassador, in particular, noted that Ukraine might in November receive 500 million euro if the country fulfills the agreed conditions for granting these funds. This 500 million euro will be the second tranche under the program of providing macro-financial assistance in the amount of 1 billion euro.

As reported, in June this year the EU issued the first tranche of 500 million euro within the second program of macro-financial assistance. In addition, Kyiv got 100 million euro as part of the first program of macro-financial aid.
