President Viktor Yushchenko has appointed Volodymyr Ohryzko as the first deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

This is disclosed in the presidential decree No.163/2009 of March 17.

The first deputy secretaries of the NSDC are also Stepan Havrysh and Ukraine’s Ambassador to Russia Kostiantyn Hryschenko.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on March 3, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Ohryzko as the foreign affairs minister.

In April 2008, Yushchenko introduced additional posts of the first deputy secretary of the NSDC and in June, he ruled that Ukraine’s ambassador to Russia should be one of the first deputy secretaries of the council.
