Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the head of the Liberal Democratic Party and its faction in the State Duma, has accused the president of Ukraine of criminal lack of action and called for urgent measures to be taken to defend the Ukrainian Constitution.

“What is Yanukovych thinking about? They are battering and killing
police officers who are fulfilling their duty to defend the country’s
Constitution. It’s horrendous! It’s a shame!” Zhirinovsky told Interfax
on Wednesday.

No country has experienced such shame yet, he said.

“Nowhere and never has any head of state allowed the cynical and
essentially unpunished killing of his police officers,” he said.

Zhirinovsky said he believes the Ukrainian leader not only lacks the
decision to bring order to the situation, but also lacks human feelings.
“Maybe he will have some pride?” Zhirinovsky said.

“However, there is no time. They should urgently take all measures to
defend their Constitution, their citizens, their police, or Yanukovych
will be forever cursed by all people of Ukraine,” Zhirinovsky said.
