PRAGUE (AP) — Czechs are signing condolence books to pay tribute to their former President Vaclav Havel, who led a peaceful revolution that toppled the communist regime in 1989.

President Vaclav Klaus, Parliamentary speaker Miroslava Nemcova and Prague archbishop Domink Duka were the first to sign the books at the Prague Castle on Monday.

Klaus was scheduled to meet Havel’s wife, Dagmar to discuss details of a state funeral that is preliminary scheduled for Friday.

The coffin with Havel’s body will go on display Monday at the Prague Crossroads, a former church that Havel turned into a space for conferences and artistic events.

The Czech government meets later Monday to declare a period of official mourning.

Havel died Sunday aged 75.
