Hannover – Activists from women's rights organization Femen were detained at a rally at the industrial fair in Hannover which was being visited by Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

While the officials were standing near the stand of the Volkswagen company, several young women among the throng of journalists broke through a barrier, stripped topless, and started chanting slogans in English.

These phrases were also written on their bodies. Security guard arrested the protestors.

Meanwhile, Putin and Merkel paid no attention to the protestors and unhurriedly moved on to the next hall.
