You're reading: French TV shows Strauss-Kahn surveillance videos

PARIS — A French all-news channel has broadcast surveillance videos showing Dominique Strauss-Kahn and the New York hotel maid he was accused of sexually assaulting minutes after the alleged attack.

The segments show Strauss-Kahn, the former head of the International Monetary fund, checking out of the hotel and his accuser talking with co-workers in a corridor. In one sequence, she appears to act out the alleged assault, pursuing a colleague with outstretched arms.

BFM television says Thursday was first time the videos, filmed on May 14, have been broadcast publicly.

The videos were the basis of recent reports suggesting Strauss-Kahn — a Socialist politician once considered a top contender for France’s 2012 presidential race — might have been the victim of a political plot.
