Snow turns Kyiv into fairyland

In just three days, Kyiv got its monthly rate of snow for a typical January -- 41 centimeters (more than 16 inches) in just a three-day period. It started snowing intensively on Friday, Jan. 20, and continued for the whole weekend, giving Kyiv the look of a winter wonderland. Olexander Mazurchak, deputy head of the Kyiv state administration told Komsomolska Pravda newspaper that city services were working hard to get the maximum amount of snow off the streets and sidewalks. According to the weather forecast, it will keep snowing for the next two days, while the temperature will fall to as low as minus 15 C, or 5 F.
