Recognition of the famine as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian nation

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko takes part in an opening of a memorial devoted to the 1932-33 famine that killed millions several days ahead of an anniversary of the tragedy, in Kharkiv, some 480 km (300 miles) east of Kiev, Ukraine, Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008.
