Inside Chernobyl: life goes on
May 5, 2009 at 10:48
At the Chernobyl plant, more than 3,800 employees still come to work every day. Here, workers check their hands and feet for radioactive contamination one last time at the end of the day, before boarding the train home.
Michael Forster Rothbart is a freelance photographer working mostly in Wisconsin, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. He is the creator of the After Chernobyl documentary project. His photographs of modern-day Chernobyl and the surrounding area are currently exhibited in Shevchenko Park, Kyiv. The exhibition is on until May 8, 2009.
