Activists of pro-Russian and Orthodox movements mark Unity Day
Nov 4, 2009 at 17:59
Unity Day is marked in Russia on the national level, but in Ukraine it is nothing special. Around 200 people gathered by the walls of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, carrying church banners and flags. They moved along Mazepa (former Sichnevoho Povstannya) Street in near-complete silence to Verkhovna Rada, and then on to European Square. The motto of this sad procession was "Rus will triumph over its enemies." (Photos by Oleksiy Boyko)
