Ukraine selects top beauty of 2010

A native of Odesa, 20year-old Kateryna Zakharchenko, won the final round of Miss Ukraine 2010 beauty pageant held in Kyiv on Sept. 4. She beat the other 25 contestants, who represented all regions of Ukraine. Natalya Sytnikova of Kramatorsk became Vice Miss Ukraine, and Vinnytsya native Yulia Stratehopulo was named Second Vice Miss Ukraine. The competition’s jury was headed by Italian actress Ornella Muti and included actresses Pamela Anderson, Elizabeth Hurly Elizabeth Herly, actor Jean-Cleaud van Damme, and Ukrainian supermodel Snizhana Onopka. Apart from the crown, Miss Ukraine won the right to represent the nation in Miss World competition that will be held in China on Oct. 30. (Photos by Yaroslav Debelyi)
