You're reading: Exhibition features celebrities in flower wreaths

A fashion and photography exhibition “Zakvitchani” ("Crowned With Flowers") has been presented on Nov. 5 in the Domosfera mall.

The exhibition shows the modern vision of the traditional
Ukrainian flower wreath. It showcases wreathes made of artificial flowers, metal and plastic by Ukrainian fashion designers and brands Andre Tan, Lake, Elena Reva, Elena
Burba, 2×2, Frolov та Mitus Design.

Ukrainian celebrities were photographed wearing designer-made flower wreaths.

The
designers found inspiration for their work in the famous Ukrainian
show business stars, TV hosts and socialites, such as Olga Freymut,
Jamala, Karolina Ashion, Eva Bushmina, Daria
Astafieva, Julia Kavtaradze and Olga Alyonova. They posed for photos wearing the designer wreaths.

“Today, like never before, we rethink our
historical values, familiar symbols, which, we thought, would never be good for
our everyday life and will be left forgotten in the museums,”said Iryna Danylevska, the founder of Ukrainian Fashion Week and co-organizer of the exhibition.

The
exhibition will last through Nov. 19. After it ends all the flower wreaths will
be sold at a charity auction to help Ukrainian soldiers wounded in the separatist conflict in the east.

Natalia
Kravets, the exhibition organizer, said donating the money they
collect selling the wreaths to the army would be an incarnation of the famous quote by Fyodor
Dostoevsky: “Beauty will save the world.”
