If you think the Olympics are where humans are pushed to the extreme of their physical abilities, try the Chinese circus.

The physical feats by 130 members of Hebei Acrobatic Troupe, a famous Chinese theatre group, will leave children and adults alike gasping in awe.

Some of their tricks have mysterious, captivating names, like Lion Dance, Diabolo Girls, Belts Gymnastics, and Sacred Jar Juggling.

Foot juggling with umbrellas ought to make your jaw drop. The whole performance is guaranteed to give a good adrenaline rush.

The Hebei Acrobatic Troupe was recognized by China’s Ministry of Culture as “an advanced acrobatic troupe that has made outstanding contributions to the development of acrobatic arts in recent years.”

There are no animals or clowns.

Hebei is more of a cultural experience with elements of martial arts, ancient dance and music, but the linchpin is strict discipline.

Founded in 1976, the troupe is based in Hebei, China.

They have also toured around the world with their breathtaking acrobatic skills and elegant presentation, vivid costumes and lighting effects.

You have plenty of schedule options with affordable tickets, since the acrobats will give 24 shows starting from Dec. 24 through Jan. 8.

Dec. 24 – Jan 8, 11 a.m., 2 p.m., October Palats, 1 Instytutska St., tickets: Hr 40 – 150.
