You're reading: Knights galore

Mamayeva Sloboda, an outdoor museum, is hosting an international knights championship on July 7-9. Called “The Saber of Cossack Mamay,” it will give a chance to all those who are knights at heart to see some of the skills on display that were crucial to the warriors of some centuries ago.

Participants from Sweden, Italy, Poland, Turkey and Ukraine will compete in a historical fencing tournament reviving scenes of Cossack battles.

Apart from the tournament, there will be a huge crafts fair, a concert by a folk ensemble, and a selection of dishes from old times.
