'Color Field' photo exhibition

Those interested in photography should pay attention to the exhibition by the Ukrainian artistic photographer Dimitri Bogachuk. The pictures of his “Color Field" photo exhibition feature city landscapes from Ukraine, Russia, Germany, shot in a peculiar soft pastel spectrum.

‘Coriolanus’ opera

“Coriolanus,” a modern opera based on the play by William Shakespeare, successfully premiered in Kyiv in November and is returning for a second show. The opera was created by Vlad Troitsky, known as the head of Dakh Theater and the organizer of the GogolFest modern art festival.

Shadow show

The Teulis Shadow Theater is a shadow play theater that tours Europe. The theater is about to give its first show in Kyiv, called “Voice of Soul.” The only performance tool used by the theater actors is a shadow silhouette of a human body.

‘Memory Rewind’

Viktor Sydorenko is one of the most commercially successful artists in Ukraine. In November his work “Expiration” sold at London auction Sotheby’s for $31,400. “Memory Rewind” is an exhibition of his new works where he continues to explore topics like personal identification, ideology, nostalgia, historical memory.

‘Second Hand’ by Zhanna Kadyrova

For the “Second Hand” exhibition, taking place in a Soviet factory turned into an art space, modern artist Zhanna Kadyrova created clothes made of old tiles taken from the walls of the factory.

Metallica tribute show

Ukrainian tribute band Scream Inc., previously named Y-axis, is known among post-Soviet fans of Metallica as one of the best tribute bands. The program of the band’s upcoming Kyiv show features all the best songs of the American heavy metal legend, as well as some of the Scream Inc. originals.

Spring Jazz

American jazz singer Bill Warren will perform a “Jazz Under the Stars” show program in the Atmasfera 360 club. Warren is a follower of Frank Sinatra and has once worked with him. He will perform a lineup of classic jazz hits.

Gypsy songs

A group of acclaimed Ukrainian folk singers will perform Gypsy songs, or Russian gypsy romance, in two shows in the Palace Ukraine. Gypsy romance is a sentimental song with hints of the Gypsy influence that developed in Imperial Russia.
