Budapest Gypsy Symphonic Orchestra

The biggest gypsy symphonic orchestra in the world is coming to Kyiv. With a simple name “A hundred gypsy violins” this orchestra has been touring around the world, generating fans in every city. The orchestra was founded back in 1985, at the funeral of the great gypsy violinist Sandor Jaroka when violinists played because they wanted to pay their respects to the virtuoso. The orchestra performs without sheet music and without a conductor.

Wolf of Wall Street

A 2014 drama, comedy, biography, directed by the one and only Martin Scorsese. The movie is based on the memoirs of Jordan Belford and tells a story of a famous stock-broker and his way of living life, doing business and making money. The movie has been nominated in various categories at the 86th Academy Awards. The picture won a Golden Globe (Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture) with Leonardo DiCaprio taking the award home. The movie is screened in English.

Movies from Denmark

Kyiv Movie Theater is screening contemporary Danish movies. Ostracized teacher drama “The Hunt” (2012) tells a story of 40-year old Lucas, who is trying to get his life together after a divorce. The movie was nominated for best foreign language film at this year’s Golden Globe and Academy Awards. The film festival’s program will also include the movies “Skytenn” (2013), “A Royal Affair” (2012), “The Passion of Marie” (2012), and “A Hijacking” (2012). All of the films are screened in Danish with Ukrainian subtitles.

Kyiv Accordion Fest

Accordion festival organized by the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, has been going on for a few years now. This spring the show will be provided by Professor Evgeniya Cherkazova (Ukraine), Professor George Dellarole (Italy), orchestra «Grand Accordeon» and quartet “Dzherelo”, performing works by Bach, Liszt, Shamo and others.

The Cold Sea

Art gallery “Minus 4” invites to see the works of Ukrainian artists, dedicated to Crimea. All of the paintings were born during January 2014 and portray a peaceful atmosphere of the south. The creators invite everyone to re-discover the magic of Crimea through art. The works by Velganenko, Kozak, Rybak, Foya, Yurchenko and Yarosh will be on display.

Alessandro Safina

Famous
Italian tenor is back in Kyiv. Singing only classical opera until the year of 2000,
Safina has found a way to charm the audience with his takes on the opera music
and classical singing. In 2001 this Italian artist took part in recording of
the Moulin Rouge soundtrack together with Evan McGregor and the whole world
heard his name. Since then, Safina released 10 studio albums. In Kyiv, the set
list of the show will include his new works, as well as old and loved hits.
