Dark Night Bright Stars

Dedicating the performance to the 200th anniversary of Shevchenko, the New York Experimental Theater “La MaMa” is putting on a show in collaboration with Ukrainian counterparts. The roots of the show go back to 1858 when Ukrainian poet and artist Taras Shevchenko met Ira Aldridge, a famous British and American actor. Later, Shevchenko presented his friend with a famous portrait of Aldridge in pastel. The performance will show the ability of two to communicate without sharing a language.

Dark Cabaret

The Tiger Lilies, an English band founded in 1989, is about to hit
the Kyiv musical stage for the first time. The trio is performing in
variety of genres, from French chanson to Gypsy ballades. The band
released more than 30 albums over the 25 years of playing. Now the Dark
Cabaret is about to bring its 2014 record “Lulu – A Murder Ballad” to
Kyiv.

Peter Gabriel

Peter Gabriel, the English singer and songwriter and former Genesis band member, is coming to Kyiv.  Gabriel, 64, recorded nine solo studio albums but nothing beats the popularity of his fifth one, “So,” 1986 hit record.

‘Snowpiercer’

A joined South Korean and American production released “Snowpiercer” in 2013. A science fiction action film takes place in the year  2031. A failed experiment to prevent global warming ended up in bringing ice age on the Earth. The only survivors are the people on the train, the Snowpiercer. The hierarchy on the train is unbearable, but only one can rise to authorities and change the regime. The movie will be screened in English.

Blagofest charity festival

The fourth annual charity festival “Blagofest” is coming to Kyiv this May. Various local bakeries and handmade goods’ stores will hold an open-air sale of sweets and souvenirs in order to collect money for charity. The audience will be able to participate in the master classes and study garland and postcards making, constructing birdhouses, cooking and many more.

Korn in Kyiv

Formed in 1993, Korn won the hearts of  fans all over the world. Playing in the genres of nu and alternative metal, the band has released 12 albums. The band is the winner of the Best Metal Performance 2003 Grammy Awards and winner of the Album of the Year for its 2012 “Path of Totality” according to Revolver Golden Gods Awards. An Arizone metal band Soulfly will be opening the Korn show in Kyiv.
