The British punk duo Slaves, founded in 2012, is bringing its lo-fi sound to Kyiv for the first time. The up-and-coming band made it to the BBC Sound of 2015 long list.

Othello’ theatrical recording

Yet
another masterpiece of British theater comes to the movie screens in
Kyiv. This classical performance of “Othello” was staged by Royal
Shakespeare Company and ran throughout the summer of 2015. The
performance is screened in English with Ukrainian subtitles.

Vivienne Mort


Ukrainian
indie rock band Vivienne Mort will play a solo show in the Kyiv club
Sentrum. The band got praise from Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, the front man of
Okean Elzy.

Jazz love songs

The “Love Songs” show will present the famous love songs by Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Sting, The Beatles and others, performed as jazz songs by Ukrainian vocalists and jazz band Kyiv Soloists.

‘Vanishing Point’ photo exhibition

The
new war photography exhibition shines light on the work of Ukrainian
photojournalists in the war-torn Donbas as well as the outstanding
heroism of Ukrainian troops fighting for their country.

Emma Shapplin

Emma Shapplin, French singer with a beautiful coloratura soprano, reimagines the classical opera sound. Her last album, “Macadam Flower” (2009), is a mix of synth-pop, electro-pop, and rock.
