Miss Ukraine 2015 beauty contest
Twenty-five women from across the country are to take part in the Miss Ukraine beauty pageant in Kyiv on Sept. 22. Contestants will take to the stage in a range of costumes, including swimsuits and evening dress. Ukrainian pop singers Loboda, Sky and Zlata Ognevich will perform. The winner will represent Ukraine at the Miss World contest on Dec. 19 in China.

Afghanistan war 1979 – 1989 tribute
Some 44 photos and 106 personal items of Ukrainian sappers are to be displayed at an exhibition dedicated to the Soviet Union’s military intervention and war in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1989. Thousands of Ukrainian soldiers were sent on military service to Afghanistan and many of them never returned alive.
