You're reading: Masterpieces from Italian museums

Kyivans now have a unique chance to see a number of classical Italian art masterpieces from the late Renaissance era in their native city.

Venus and Adonis by Titian Vecellio, a Jesus Christ altar painting by leading Italian Baroque master Guido Reni, and the majestic tapestry Strange Fishing based on the composition of Raphael Canti have been brought to Kyiv from the National Gallery of Ancient Art in Rome and Loreto’s Museum of the Ancient Treasure of the Holy House.

The artworks will be on display in Khanenko Museum of Art through July 5. They’re a part of the exhibition called “European Dimension. Three Classical Art Masterpieces From Italian Museums,” dedicated to celebrating Kyiv Days and the 1,025th anniversary of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus.
