The Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days (Oct. 18-20) is back this autumn for its seventh season and will gather guests to celebrate fashion in the Ukrainian capital. The program includes lectures, fashion shows and Fashion Scout Showroom. Kyiv Post decided to pick the most interesting events worth your attention.

Lectures

Aliona Doletskaya

Oct. 19, 12 p.
m.

Editor-in-chief of Interview Russia Aliona Doletskaya will
discuss her magazine. Doletskaya is a prominent figure in the fashion industry.
She is best known for being the first editor-in-chief of Vogue Russia. During
the lecture guests will get to know about how Interview Russia works. A Q&A
session is also promised.

Scott Schuman

Oct. 20, 1 p. m.

The creator of The Sartorialist blog, an
ultimate street style bible, will visit Kyiv in search of those with original
styles and interesting personalities. Schuman’s lecture will be in a Q&A format,
guests will have a unique opportunity to ask Schuman any questions they would
like. So prepare an interesting question for Schuman, who has worked for GQ
Magazine, Vogue Italia, Vogue Paris and Interview.

Fashion Shows

Natasha Zinko

Oct. 18, 6 p. m.

Ukrainian designer Natasha Zinko creates apparel (sold under Abrakadabra
brand) and handmade jewelry (Natasha Zinko brand). Zinko studied at Central St.
Martins and owns a boutique in downtown London. Her clients are Russian
socialite Miroslava Duma, actresses Alice Eve, Vanessa Williams and singer Kate
Nash.

Omelya Atelier

Oct. 18, 7 p.m.

Things are going well for prominent fashion designer
Kostya Omelya. Omelya Atelier is sold in fashion stores like Snob, S4ASTIE,
Fabulous and Suitster. Omelya’s style is feminine,
simple and comfortable. The designer discovered by MBKFD lately has
received numerous positive reviews of his designs from foreign fashion
journalists, and his clothes are often seen on the pages of Vogue Ukraine, as
well as on Ukrainian it-girls.

Yasya Minochkina

Oct. 19, 6 p. m.

Yasya Minochkina started her brand in 2012 and has
already achieved some success. Ukrainian fashion insiders, such as Daria Shapovalova,
model Alla Kostromichova and fashion consultant Natalie Joos wear clothes by
Minochkina. Vogue Italia, Vogue Britain and Nowfashion.com have mentioned Minochkina
in editorials.

Paskal

Oct. 19, 7 p. m.

Julia Paskal is an upcoming fashion designer who
proved her professionalism during the last two years. Her clothes can be bought
in online shops, such as Open
Market Store
and -D-A-S-H- store. A former architect, Paskal designs mature
collections using contrasting fabrics, shapes and colors. Vogue Ukraine,
AnOther and Harper’s Bazaar have featured Paskal clothes in editorials.

Sasha Kanevski

Oct. 19, 9 p. m.

Sasha Kanevski started his career as a designer in 2005.
His previous experience included work for Russian fashion brand Chapurin and work
as a stylist for the Esthetic Education band. Kanevski likes to feature rock’n’roll
and brutal styles in his designs.

Anna October

Oct. 20, 9 p. m.

With the help of MBKFD Anna
October became the most outstanding upcoming designer of 2012 in Ukrainian
fashion. She specializes in women’s wear, emphasizing feminine silhouettes.
Anna plays with different textures and colors while making her fashion
collections. Her clothes are available at Anna October Showroom (Odessa),
Atelier 1 (Kyiv), Blank (El Riyadh), Sauce (Dubai) and Grain (Kuwait). October
was featured in Vogue Ukraine and Marie Claire U.S.

Fashion Scout Showroom

Ksenia Schnaider

Oct. 20, 6:30 p.
m.

Ksenia Schnaider brand was started
by Ukrainian fashion designer Ksenia Marchenko and Russian graphic designer
Anton Schnaider. Creators claim to be working in between art and fashion. At
their last fashion show Schnaider and Marchenko replaced the classic catwalk
with a demonstration of 3D models wearing designs from the collection. Ksenia
Schnaider produces both menswear and women’s clothing.
