Colorful interior and various entertainments ensure your children will enjoy themselves at the Baby Bar.

If you intend to go to a restaurant with children, your best option will be either a place designed specifically for them or a family-oriented restaurant with playing rooms, baby-sitting services, nonsmoking areas and kid’s menus. There are several such places in town, where your child can have a good time as the family enjoys a nice meal.

Kabachok na Bochok restaurant and entertainment complex is remarkable with its tilted building that attracts passing children’s attention. The complex has a restaurant, pub, children’s cafe, play room, a fairy tale garden with a fountain, a small zoo and a outdoor playground. The children’s cafe Jumanji offers different canapes, soups and sweets. Salads “Yeralash,” “Tutti Carlson” and “Cipollino” cost Hr 17 to Hr 19, veal medallions “Buttons” are Hr 26, pancakes with bananas and chocolate are Hr 21. If parents arrange a party for their kid at the cafe, the child gets the “Jumanji Citizen Passport” – a discount card. Using it the kids earn points towards a free gift.

Play room “Cherdachek” (“Garret”) is open from 9 a.m. till 9 p.m. and their nanny is ready to entertain your child with games, reading, puzzles, cartoons while you eat. You can pick an individual menu for your kid and hand it to the babysitter. Nanny’s services costs Hr 7 to Hr 20 depending on the hour and day of the week. The outdoor playground is supplied with slides and a maze. The minizoo houses a roe deer and Vietnamese piglets which you can be fed for Hr 1.

Upon entering Cipollino, you will see that it’s one of the few restaurants in the city, where children are the main objects of attention. The restaurant is located in the new puppet theater and has a large playing hall for children and separate dining room for parents, parkland with a fountain and summer terrace. The children will never be bored as the entertainers will keep the kids busy the whole time, inventing different games and fun. It’s possible to play with pet chinchillas and watch cartoons. Sedentary games like clay modeling and painting take turns with active games. Upon order, the restaurant can organize various shows with pigeons, live butterflies, fire, soapbubbles, acrobats, magicians and clowns. Children’s dining hall Chipoliandiya can seat 80 guests and contain tiny “cheese” and “fruit” houses for little visitors. The hall Apple Court with a minibar and hookah is provided especially for parents, where besides having nice meal they can quietly relax with friends, while watching their children play in the next hall on closedcircuit TV. For celebrations and banquets there is Puppet hall for 200 guests.

Prices of children’s menu don’t differ too much from adults menu. Chicken and pork shashlik “Best friends” will cost you Hr 49, pancakes with cottage cheese – Hr 35, vegetable salad – Hr 22. The confectioners of Cipollino make to order desserts, cakes with various fillings and decorations, fountains from black, white or fruit chocolate.

The Baby Bar, on the Lvivska Square, caters to the youngest children, infants to seven year olds. They have all the necessities to take care of babies, while older kids will be entertained in a play room with a nanny. The play room is equipped with a mass of toys and various fun stuff, allowing them to make their own amusement choices.

Baby Bar is a great place to celebrate various holidays for junior school kids and underfives, and even a “grownup holiday” for moms and dads. For older children and their parents, they show famous Soviet and foreign cartoons and fairytales on big screens all day long.

As for the menu, you can easily guess the contents of the dish by its name. For example, “KuKaReKu” is toasted chicken pieces with sauce (Hr 26.)  In the “MuMu” section you find Beef stroganoff with baked potatoes (Hr 42), in “BulBul” – salmon with rice under orange sauce (Hr 42). Special “Menyushka,” offering dishes with funny names is popular among regular customers. For example, “Buratino’s Dream” – fresh salad, chop and mashed potatoes (Hr 20) or “Popeye’s Specialty,”  pike perch under creamyandmushroom sauce with sauted vegetables  and rice (Hr 28). And even for the youngest there is menu, named “KashkiMalashki” containing semolina, oatmeal porridge and boiled buckwheat.

The Baby Bar is a great place to throw a child’s birthday party. They offer many birthday themes including participation of diverse fairytale characters. They can organize a puppetshow, clown performance or theater play with unusual impersonations. And even if you’re unsure what exactly you want to see on your holiday, but want to have a fun party, organizers will provide party advice. A holiday can be organized only for children or with parents’ participation. In the latter case, they provide special adult banquet menu, but strong drinks will not be provided, so you have to bring them yourself. Note, that it’s forbidden to smoke in the cafe, smoking is only allowed on a summer terrace.
