Zhovten

Online and social media are busting with articles about time management, but what is the recipe of using time wisely for those who have not so much of it left?

James is 29 when he finds out that he has cancer and won’t celebrate his 30th birthday.

Asking his three closest friends to accompany him, the young man heads to his favorite place on earth – a beautiful and wild Welsh beach.

As James has troubles with his legs, his friends help him to move around on a special cart, and the closer their goal is, the harder it is for him to walk, and the more frank their conversations get.

Having no time to change his own life, James tells his pals what’s wrong with theirs.

Strong and beautiful, this drama impresses, without the annoying artificial tear-jerking.

Getting vertigo each time he has to tackle a couple of stairs, he is forced to leave his career.

W.E.

Ireland 2011, 119’
Language: Ukrainian
Directed by Madonna
From Feb.2
Most Kyiv cinemas

Hammered by the critics for “weak performances” and “risible dialogues,” Madonna’s movie “W.E” flopped at the 68th Venice Film Festival last September.

However, the 53-year-old American pop icon dismisses the negative feedbacks as exaggerated and evil.

W.E. stands for the names of the main characters: a divorced American woman Wallis Simpson and British king Edward VIII, who falls for her so badly that he gives up his throne to be with his ladylove.

Wally, a lonely writer living in Manhattan of 1998, is the third heroine of the plot – she is so inspired with the romantic and dramatic love story from the 1930th that it prompts her own investigation.
