You're reading: Japanese born in 1965

Six Japanese artists will feature in a unique exhibition called “The Group 1965: We are boys!” Among the artists are painters Aida Makato and Oscar Oiwa, performance artist Kinoshita Parco, as well as other photographers and installation and sound artists.

These men grouped together for a reason – they were all born in the same year –1965. The artists met each other at an art-fair in Tokyo 17 years ago.

Their diverse artworks are permeated by the same energy and spirit of their epoch. The artists will also recreate a nagoya, a typical Japanese home, right in the gallery space.

The program includes performances, lectures, workshops, karaoke program and a master class for children.

The exhibition is a part of the Art-Kyiv Contemporary project designed to bring world-class contemporary art to Ukrainians.
