You're reading: Electronic jazz with DagaDana

DagaDana is a rising star of modern jazz.

It kicked off when two talented and somewhat quirky young ladies got together in 2007, and decided to so something new in jazz. One of the women is Ukrainian, and the other one is Polish. The name of the band is made of their two names – Daga from Poland and Dana from Ukraine.
They are currently touring Ukraine and Moldova extensively, showing off their work that combines folk, jazz and electronic elements. Apart from traditional jazz instruments like contrabass and piano, the musicians use children’s toys, cell phones and even a saw to add fantastic and ironic elements to their music. In other words, it’s never boring.

DagaDana. Divan. April 25. 8 p.m. Hr 40-60
