You're reading: Ten female TV hosts who are known and admired

These women surely know how to look stylish, talk smart and stay popular. They are the most famous and -- some would say -- beautiful anchors on Ukrainian television.

Kateryna
Osadcha

“High Life with Kateryna Osadcha” (1+1)

In 2009, The
Guardian picked Osadcha’s black
raven hat for the Royal
Ascot Fabulous Hats list. Apart from her love for extravagant hats, Osadcha is known for asking celebrities the most provocative questions and not letting them escape from answering them. Her timely shift from the model business to
journalism when she was just 18 years old proved to be a successful one. Now, a 31-year old powerful mature woman, she
is the face of a fear for many celebrities who appear on the screen of a
“Svitske Zhyttya” (“High Life”) TV show on 1+1 channel.

Dasha Shy

former co-host of “Durnev+1” (TET)

Dasha Shy, a 27-year-old brunette, can be surely
called an expert in mocking people in the most unquestionable ways. She popped up several years ago as a co-host in the satirical TV show “Durnev+1” produced by TET TV station. Together with her partner Aleksey Durnev, she was coming to the glamorous and ridiculous events alike and reporting about them in a funny and sarcastic way. Shy’s unique TV personality has proven to be one of the
reasons why TET gained back its popularity with Ukrainian youth.

Olga Freymut

“Inspector Freymut” (1+1)

A 32-year-old petite blonde that scares the hell out
of Ukrainian restaurateurs and hotel owners, Olga Freymut is one of the most
talked about female TV hosts in Ukraine. Freymut loves to dress classy and
expensive, but that makes no obstacle for wearing the rubber gloves and
sneaking into the restaurant bathrooms to scrub or smell the toilet in order to
see whether the restaurant is clean enough. The show that brought her this
notorious fame was “Revizor” on Novy Channel. This year, she took her restaurant-inspecting show to 1+1.

Lidiya Taran

TSN (TV News Service) (1+1)

Looking at the sophisticated lady that Lidiya Taran is now, it’s hard to believe that a 37-year-old news anchor was once spotted in a provocative photo shoot. Now Taran’s top-notch elegant clothes, sophisticated talk and real
ladylike behavior impresses the viewers from the screen when she shines light
on all worthy things happening in Ukraine and abroad every day. She was first
noticed as a news program anchor on Channel 5 and now she is the part of the
1+1 team.

Oksana Marchenko

“Ukraine’s Got Talent,” “X Factor” (STB)

Oksana Marchenko, a gorgeous brunette and a
41-year-old TV host, is also known for being a wife of Viktor Medvedchuk, Ukrainian politician and a close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who became a godfather of
the couple’s daughter in 2004. Many debate about the main reason why Oksana Marchenko
has become so widely popular. It might be the talent she
showed while being the first and the only host of the “Ukraine’s Got Talent” and “X Factor” (both being Ukrainian versions of the British shows).
On the other hand it can be her manner to wear flamboyant glittery evening gowns
that emphasize her body curves.

Solomiya Vytvytska

TSN Special (1+1)

A 34-year old journalist,
Solomiya Vytvytska plays a winning combination of beauty and lively nature. She is a relatively new face on 1+1 channel as she shifted from being an
ordinary reporter for the TSN news program to the lead of the TSN Special entertainment
news show two years ago. Not too mocking or too aggressive, the style of Vytvytska is rather neutral. She makes an
impression of a very open and down-to-earth person – a rare thing to see on Ukrainian TV.

Vasylisa Frolova

former host and co-host of various TV shows, currently a host at Radio Aristocraty

Vasylisa Frolova has proven to be a rather shocking TV host. She worked in modeling, then
moved on TV screen of M1 channel to host some entertainment shows and shifted
to tough mature talks about politics on “Shuster Live” program in the end. A
36-year old blonde, Frolova, is not afraid to speak up about whatever is on her
mind, even if it is something most people would consider leaving as private.
Hence, one might find her personality quite scandalous if decides to go on
YouTube to watch some of her genuine interviews.

Olga Polyakova

former host and participant of various shows

A TV host with a opera singer diploma, Olga Polyakova
is known for being Ukraine’s self-proclaimed “super blonde”. She used to appear
on M1 music channel, TRK Ukrayina, Novy Channel, TET and 1+1 in a big range of
roles: a singing contest participant, an entertainment show commentator, a jury
member of a song contest, a cook on a cooking program and a TV host.

Tetyana Danylenko

“The Time: Week’s Resume” (Channel Five)

Smart and persistent, 30-year old Tetyana Danylenko is the only TV
anchor on this list who was lucky enough to get into the Guinness World
Records and the book of Records of Ukraine for holding a 52-hour TV
marathon “Ukraine’s Independence” dedicated to the 20th Ukrainian
Independence Day. She started her career on STB channel, but then
shifted to Channel Five in 2004 due to her strong belief that it was the
only TV channel in Ukraine that stood for freedom of
speech. Now Danylenko is the the anchor and co-author of the Channel Five
news program “The Time: Week’s Resume.”

Masha Yefrosinina

Hosts of various shows at Novy Channel

Being just 35-year-old Masha Yefrosinina has already
achieved a lot in her TV career. She
makes an impression of a strong powerful woman. Among many TV projects, Yefrosinina was a host of the 50th Eurovision contest
that was held in Kyiv in 2005. She is now one of the producers at Novy Channel where she earlier reached the
peak of her career as TV host.
