You're reading: Donbas separatists inspire bikini collection

Supporters of Russia-backed separatists have got a new way for expressing themselves. A Moscow-based online store has announced a release of a clothing collection branded with the separatists' symbols, including several bikini styles.

The Voenpro store, a haven of military souvenirs and clothing, has called its experimental collection “The World of Novorossiya.”

The collection’s highlight are several bikinis in the colors of the flag of the Donetsk People’s Republic, a separatist organization that proclaimed itself a state in eastern Ukraine.

Another option is a bikini in the colors of the so-called Novorossiya – a joined name for two separatist organizations in Luhansk in Donetsk. This one can be easily confused with a Confederate flag. One-piece swimsuits are also available.

The website statement reads that “the swimsuits and bikinis of Novorossiya and Donetsk People’s Republic will drag views to the girls on the beaches of the Crimea and other resorts in Russia and abroad”.

The prices are not yet announced. All the collection items are marked as “soon in stock.”

Apart from the swimsuits, the collection includes dresses, tops, shoes, bags, jewellery and various souvenirs. dnr apparel voenpro

The store has also released a variety of bogus medals: “For the Capture of Kyiv, “For the Capture of Lviv,” and “For the Liberation of Odesa.” Most medals go for $8.

Another bogus medal “Star of the Hero of the Donetsk People’s Republic” is a bit more pricey – it costs almost $15.

The cheapest items are magnets from “A Hero of Novorossiya” series ($0.8), that feature Oleh Tsariov, Pavel Gubarev, Igor Plotnistsky, and other leaders of the separatists.

The store also offers toilet paper and condoms in Ukraine’s yellow-and-blue colors, in what is supposed to be an insulting gesture.
