“I want to represent Germany with charm and beauty, with pride and
honor,” said Hoffmann while receiving the crown.

Olga Hoffmann left Ukraine as a kid in 2001.

According to German press, Miss Germany 2015 comes from a small Ukrainian village, but the village name is not specified. Since 2001 Hoffmann
lives with her family in
Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia, and possesses German
citizenship. She is not married and works as a medical assistant.

Her Ukrainian relatives live in the war-torn regions of Ukraine’s east.

“We
are in constant fear,” Hoffmann told DPA.
“My heart is with Germany, but also with my homeland, Ukraine. I wish peace to Ukraine. And I want to find out the truth:
what lies behind this war.”

Wolfgang Bosbach, jury member and German politician from the ruling party the Christian Democratic Union, has called Hoffmann’s victory “an example of successful integration” which would be “a wonderful message in favor of open Germany”, as quoted by German news agency DPA.

Miss Germany beauty pageant is
being held in Germany annually since 1927. It is the oldest and the most
prestigious
beauty contest in the country. This year, in total 5,115 women participated in
