Leaders of many Christian, Muslim and Jewish churches in Ukraine released a joint letter in support of Ukraine’s European integration on Sept. 30.
Among all, the letter was signed by Metropolitan Volodymyr (Sabodan),
leader of the Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine. His
signature reportedly infuriated President Vladimir Putin and many
others. Russian newspapers followed up on the event with headlines like
“No more holy Rus?”
