Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko met his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for the first time in several months at Eurasian Summit in Minsk on Aug. 26.
Some in Ukraine criticized Poroshenko for shaking hands with Putin, who
is blamed for backing separatist rebels in Ukraine’s east as well as
sending actual Russian servicemen into Ukraine to help them. It was
noticed that while Putin smiled during the handshake, Poroshenko was
frowning.
