At the Eurasian summit in Minsk on Aug. 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Belarus of being used as a transfer country for importing banned products from the European Union to Russia.

“The label says ‘Belarus, but when you tear it off, it’s Poland,” Putin
said. In early August, Russia banned food imports from EU in response
to the sanctions it implemented against Russia. The recent photos of
shrimps sold in a grocery store in Moscow went viral – they were labeled
as made in Belarus, the country with no sea access.
