Even though Ukraine’s government and representatives of the Russia-backed insurgents fighting in Ukraine’s east signed a cease-fire on Sept. 5, occasional fights still happen.
According to President Petro Poroshenko the night of Sept. 24 was the
first night when not a single Ukrainian soldiers was wounded or killed,
even though two Ukrainian checkpoints were shot at.
