On Oct. 7, the chief military prosecutor said that it was the desertion of Ivano-Frankivsk’s Prykarpattya Batallion that led to the defeat of the Ukrainian army in the Battle of Ilovaisk in late August.
Many expected that the investigators would reveal the names of the army commanders responsible for the defeat and were furious to hear that no officials or commanders were accused at all.
