Civic activists argue that Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin and his first deputy Yury Sevruk are sabotaging prosecutorial reform, and efforts to crack down on corruption.
Critics say that earlier this month Shokin effectively rendered one
reformist top prosecutor, Vitaly Kasko, powerless, while Sevruk lashed
out at a testing system prepared by another reformer, Davit
Sakvarelidze.
