Supporters of opposition parties demonstrate in Kyiv city centre on Aug. 24 to mark Independence Day. This year Ukraine celebrates the 21st anniversary of the country’s Independence.

This year’s rally was called to defend Ukrainian language, which as protesters say has been harassed by the President and the Parliament.
