Yanukovych, Akhmetov say farewell to Yenakiyeve Mayor Rukhadze

President Viktor Yanukovych (R), Ukraine’s richest man Rinat Akhmetov (next to Yanukovych),Donetsk regional Governor Andriy Shyshatsky, Donetsk Mayor Oleksandr Lukianchenko came to bid farewell to Yenakiyeve Mayor Serhiy Rukhadze who died on Aug. 11 at the age of 54.

Yenakiyeve Mayor (Donetsk region) Serhiy Rukhadze died on the night of Aug. 11, according to the Novyny Donbasa online portal, citing the chief of the main health care department at Donetsk Regional State Administration, Olena Petriayeva.

"He died today at 4.15 a.m.," she said. According to the edition, Rukhadze was hospitalized in the neurosurgery resuscitation department in Kalinin hospital on July 8 after a stroke.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has expressed condolences on the death of Yenakiyeve (Donetsk region) Mayor Serhiy Rukhadze.

"To all who knew and worked with Serhiy Zhorzhovych, he will remain a sensitive father, a loving husband, a loyal friend, a wise leader, the man who rendered obedience to his city and the Ukrainian state," reads the president's condolence message to the family and relatives of the deceased.

The funeral took place in Yenakiyeve on Monday, August 13.
