Ukraine Today: Kremlin-backed militants defy peace; insurgency leader vows to continue fighting in east Ukraine (VIDEO)

Insurgents have sporadically violated a ceasefire agreement they signed in Minsk on September 5 to temporarily stop the fighting. Ukrainian military officials say fighters have been using rockets to shell government troop positions in residential areas and near Donetsk airport. 

The insurgent’s self-proclaimed deputy prime minister also vowed to fight for independence from Ukraine, despite President Poroshenko’s offer for peace.
