Ukraine's  inflation rate  edged up 1.1 percent in September
The State Statistics Committee released its inflation report for September on Oct. 7. Consumer prices rose by 1.1 percent, bringing the year-on-year inflation rate to 24.6 percent.

In September, food and soft drinks prices increased by 0.3 percent, public and housing utilities costs grew by nearly four percent, health care services prices rose a percentage point and transport cost fell by 1.1 percent.

For the first nine months of 2008, the nation's inflation rate stands at 16.1 percent.

In June, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers adjusted their annual inflation rate forecast from 9.6 percent to 15.3 percent.
