Kostiantyn Hryschenko, UkrainianHe gave his position on the Ekho Moskvy radio in Russia.
In his opinion, the refusal of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to visit Ukraine for attending events marking the 75th anniversary of the Holodomor famine in Ukraine in 1932-1933 did not affect the bilateral relations.
"The relations are already in a rather complicated phase... I don't think one can say today that a specific step is capable of complicating the relations more," Hryschenko said.
According to the Ukrainian ambassador, the topic of the Holodomor famine has not exhausted at present and is still open for discussions.
Hryschenko is confident that Ukraine and Russia will arrive at mutual understanding in the questions of joint history.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Russian President Medvedev said he would not participate in events marking the 75th anniversary of the Holodomor famine in Ukraine in 1932-1933 because this matter was rather politicized in Ukraine.
He takes the events of 1932-33 as tragedy of all nationalities of the former USSR, but not genocide against the Ukrainian nation.
