Gazprom CEO: If Ukraine continues siphoning off Russian gas, its debt could grow to billions of dollars

5 January, 22:07 | Interfax-Ukraine
Novo-Ogaryovo, Jan 5 (Interfax) - Ukraine currently owes Gazprom $614 million for gas supplied in 2008, and if Ukraine continues to illegitimately siphon off gas from the export pipeline system, this debt could grow to billions of dollars, said Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller

"If this continues, the debt will soon amount to billions of dollars," Miller said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin

Since January 1, 2009, Ukraine "has actually 'stolen' 65.3 million cubic meters of Russian gas on its territory," he said.

o, Elmer, you can\'t even look up futures in Europe yourself. May be I should do your math for you too. I got news for you, you actually can pay for a service and get quotes for natural gas features in Europe.

You want me to do you research for you, you want free gas, free quote on it. What a typpical freeloader.
elmer    (Guest) | 07.01.2009, 04:13
I have provided a link, which is available for FREE, to anyone, tracking prices. You are simply a little rooskie sovok liar.

Market information is widely available for free - not so with respect to sovok roosha, and not so with respect to the contracts between roosha and Ukraine - and ROSUKRENERGO.

There is no \"market price\" for rooshan gas. If there was, you, as a good little rooskie sovok, would be pushing it all over the place.

The fact is that roosha is engaging in a charade which has been taking place since 1992, and involves corruption every year. In the recent past, it\'s been ROSUKRENERGO, which received about $4.5 BILLION worth of the gas that was sent to Ukraine last year.

You are a sovok LIAR. You\'re blowing hot air, as usual. Put it to good use, make yourself useful for a change, and blow some gas through the pipelines.

I\'m sorry, but you are the \"sovok moron\". You don\'t know what free market is, you don\'t know what capitalism is, you don\'t know how to do research, you don\'t know pretty much anything. This little link that you included to an OPINION piece (if you know what that is) is simply an example of how dumb you are. I appologize if I\'m too harsh in case you are retarded.
FromUSAwithLove    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 09:40
Hey Dummy,

Here is what the price based on NYMEX: The futures contract trades in units of 10,000 million British thermal units (mmBtu). The price is based on delivery at the Henry Hub in Louisiana, the nexus of 16 intra- and interstate natural gas pipeline systems that draw supplies from the region\'s prolific gas deposits.
elmer    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 17:23
You idiot rooskie sovoks just can\'t seem to get it through your thick skulls - I gave you NYMEX as an example of a futures market. I asked you to give me a comparable example of a \"features\" market for rooshan gas. You provided NONE.

Look, it\'s clear that you rooskies don\'t know how to negotiate, you don\'t care about facts, you spew only lies and propaganda.

So let me help you out with some public relations for Gazrpom in the 21st century:

\"Gazprom/roos ha - we don\'t just sell you gas, you have to like us.\"

\"Gazprom/ro osha - we don\'t just sell you gas, we want to take over your country.\"

\"Gazpr om/roosha - oily orthodox roosha god says - buy our gas today, or we will kill you.\"

\"Gazprom/r oosha - buy our gas at inflated prices - hey, someone\'s got to pay for our $3,000 shoes and $180,000 BMWs\"

\"Gazprom/r oosha - we love to freeze children to death\"

\"Gazprom/ roosha - market, shmarket - just pay what we dictate to you, it\'s the rooskie oily orthodox sovok way.\"

Now the orange thieves will have the full opurtunity to see their US masters \"helping hand\". US is going to pay their orange arselickers gas bill the way Russia used to subsidize them.

Not anymore though, after the orange gas pirates refused the GENEROUS Russia ofer to sel has on HALF price out of pity for the starving ukraine children, because the orange mafia stole the ukraine children milk and sell Ukraine for small change.

Thanks God, the elections are comming son enough, and the orange mafia will be kicked in the arse for what they had done to the poor and destitute Ukraine people
FromUSAwithLove    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 09:29
Now that Elmer made complete fool out of himself and quoted NYMEX natural gas price as somehow representative of Europe\'s prices, I still want to ask Elmer one question, as we all would love to hear the answer:

Do you think that Ukrainians are superior people to Russians?
Guest    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 10:18
My answer: Ukrainians are much more civilized that Russians. Russians are even more arrogant and cocky than Americans --except that Russians don\'t have the American accomplishments to back it up. Most Russians do not have even have hot and cold water and toilets in their homes.
elmer    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 17:26
EVERYONE is superior to rooskie sovoks.

rooskie sovoks are the bottom of the barrel.

Now go eat your gas, and make sure that Putin beats you over the head, like a good little rooskie sovok.
FromUSAwithLove    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 23:00
Hile Hitler!
elmer    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 06:37
I see that the rooskie sovok hired gun media mavens are out spreading the Gazprom gospel everywhere they can, with canned phrases like \"orange thieves\" and \"gas pirates\" and other nifty sovok dreamed-up phrases.

heck, we even have rooskie sovok \"pity\" on \"starvink\" Ukrainian children.

Apparently, though, that rooskie sovok oily orthodox mother roosha \"pity\" never existed.

Seems that rooskie oily orthodox mother roosha \"pity\" is tied in with - money.

In other countries, you don\'t have to actually pay people for \"pity\" - they simply give a helping hand to those in need.

Roosha - well, roosha thinks that offering something for an artificial \"market price\" amounts to \"pity.\"

Screwy rooskie sovoks.

Look, rooskie Gazprom sovoks, why don\'t you just stop - noone believes your baloney.

Plus, the whole fight is about whether select insider Kremlin/Gazprom thugs will get to line their pockets as usual, so they can buy $3000 shoes in maskva.

rooskies - disgusting!
FromUSAwithLove    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 06:45
It sounds to me like you are asking Russia for a helping hand. Although it is lased with all kinds of non-sence.

Natural gas features are selling for about $420 - 450 per 1000cm. I got some free gas for you. And it is comming from \"you know where\". LOL....
elmer    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 07:38
Your brain and your ears are full of beans, as is typical of little rooskie sovoks, honey.

Gazprom, through a media blitz, is trying to portray itself as oh-so-kind and humanitarian.

As has been said here before, if you\'re going to do charity work, just do it - don\'t crow about it.

And if you\'re claiming to do charity work, then no pay is involved.

Give me a link to natural gas \"features\".

Th ere is a futures market on NYMEX. I posted gas prices the other day. The problem is that, although rooshan sovoks claim to be offering a \"market price,\" it\'s all made up out of hot air, and nothing else.

I\'ve got a pipeline for you, which goes from your you-know-where right into your mouth, and it\'s got plenty of pressure. So go blow up, decrepit little rooskie sovok. And stop bothering people.

Which is what little rooskie sovoks like you feed on - your own \"hot air\" and lies.
FromUSAwithLove    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 09:26
I\'m sorry elmer, but you are a moron. NYMEX has nothing to do with Europe\'s market. You are a complete idiot.

The orange thieves are DOOMED.

The ukraine people won\'t forget how the orange mafia screw them, by refuzing to pay gas delivery at HALF the EU price Russia was ready to provide the BROKE & SINKING Ukraine out of pity for the starvink ukraine children, so now Ukraine will pay the FULL price EU pays for the delivery of Russian gas.

Thievery and banditry, this is what the orange mafia brought to the impowerished Ukraine.
Ukrainian patriot    (Guest) | 05.01.2009, 23:55
It might be that the Russians are willing to lose money and energy market share in Europe in order to punish Ukraine. This is a serious possibility and I think that this might mean that this gas war will be much much worse than the one a few years ago. If this situation goes on for several more weeks Ukraine could be in serious problem because the Russians can keep cutting the amount of gas sent through Ukraine and blaming Ukraine for it. This is not just about economic issues although it is that as well. I think as I said that the Russian government wants to humble Ukraine no matter what the financial losses for Russia might be and since they have bought Turkmenistan\'s gas this will put Ukraine in a very difficult spot if this goes on for an extended amount of time.
Guest    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 02:14
Ukraine should also look at buying 100% of teh gas that crosdses itgs borders and then on-sell the gas. It would then be 100% responsible for manaing its gas transit system and opperastion in a truly competative environment. Once the Northern Pipe steam is on line Ukraine will again lose revenue and with it its ability to steal gas. Make no doubt about6 it Ukraine are acting as State Pirates.
Voice of Reason    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 04:36
Sounds to me like you\'ve been sniffing a bit too much of that gas yourself.
Guest    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 10:12
Let the bear growl -- it\'s teeth are not as sharp as they were six months ago...and they are getting duller everyday. Europe wants its gas. It is Russia\'s responsibility to deliver it. So whatever Ukraine does is Russia s problem, not Europes. If Russia does not do pay its deliverman (Ukraine) enough and the gas supply to Europe is cut then Europe will not only increase its efforts to diversify its sources (easily done in today\'s market), Europe will also stop paying ITS gas bill. Gasprom is leveraged to the max and Russia is facing more serious economic problems than Ukraine or the rest of Europe. Ukraine\'s response to Russia should be to INCREASE whatever amount it is siphoning off and to RESELL it to Europe at a reduced market price. And to do so OPENLY.
Guest    (Guest) | 05.01.2009, 23:17
Ukraine have become teh Gas pirates of the black see.State sanctions theft of resources does nothing to instill confidence in Ukraine\'s ability to be a reliable business partner. As soon as the north stream gas pipeline comes on line Ukraine will no longer be in a position to threaten the security of Europe\'s energy supplies. Ukraine needs to pay for any gas it consumes, just as you and I would no remain connected to Gas or electricity if we refused to pay our bills.
Guest    (Guest) | 05.01.2009, 23:49
Ukraine consumes gas in order to transit Russian gas to the West. The fee under the current transit contract is supposed to pay for this \"technical gas\" but the catch is that Ukraine has to buy it from Russia which now wants to charge almost 3 times more than before. Imagine if you are a taxi driver and you agree that you bring a petrol station manager every day to work for a fixed fee, say,
Guest    (Guest) | 06.01.2009, 02:01
No Ukraine is responsible for the provisions of Its transit pipeline not Russia. The so called transit gas is a one off supply of gas for the charging/pressurization of the gas line. The gas is measured at the point of supply and destination. Can you imagine how long a business can stay in business if its stock was stolen by its employees of removed from the wholesalers wharehouse by corrupt employees. Ukraine needs to pass on the costs of gas to the consumers. It has no right to assume or demand that Russia continue to subsidize Ukraine\'s energy consumption.

Ukraine is an independent country and it needs to grow up and act independent and responsible. Stealing gas is an act of piracy and theft. Pay their bill and problem is over. If Europe wants they can pay their bill and problem solved. You do not see Poland stealing gas from their pipeline do you.
XAPKIB    (Guest) | 05.01.2009, 22:15
Dont worry vladdy putin, just charge against your war crimes in georgia, you kgb thug!

There is a loud minority that are full of hate. They do not represent Ukraine. The western media only sees what it wants to see. the person who goes by the name of XAPKIV is not Ukrainian he most likely is the US expat that is illegally living in Ukraine as an unregistered mirgrant. There are only a few native english men living in that city. Less then 15.(Excluding short term tourists/vistors)

Who\'s war crimes in Georgia ????
You mean Ukraine for supplying arms to a President that should be in a lock-up medical hospital !!!
Actually - he should be in the Hague Court, awaiting war crimes against civilians.

Can you also tell me what Putin has got to do with Gazprom ands its dispute with Ukraine\'s gas supply ???

UP, stinky First Channel was talking about thousands of dead in Osetia. Later on, it was announced less than 200 hundred dead. Your brains, if you have one, poisoned by KGB criminals. Putin should be responsible for Chechnya, Politkovskaya, Litvinenko, and other blody actions.

Moskva took Ukraine\'s grain in 1932 and 1933. Took it, confiscated it, stole what didn\'t belong to them, and to this day, no apology to the living or the millions of starved dead from Russia.

Like grain 80 years ago, natural gas is being used as a political weapon by Russia against Ukraine. Why? Because Russia is an imperialist CONTROL FREAK, a prison of many nations.

Ha ha ha!

And by the way, it wasn\'t Russia back than, it was Soviet Union. The country that was established with much effort from Ukrainan natives. Some of the most prominent leaders of Communist party were Ukrainian natives like Trotsky and Kaganovich, responisible for milions of deaths. Then, the country was run by Georgian natives -- Stalin and Beria. So, it was not \"Russia\", that was responsible for all those killings, it was a gang of thugs of different nationalities.

XAPKIB\'s moral compass is whacked!
