Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has offered Russia's assistance to Ukraine following the outbreak of swine flu in the country's western regions.

He made the offer during a phone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko on Friday, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service reported.

The ministers agreed to coordinate this work at the level of the two countries' health ministries.

Poroshenko confirmed Ukraine's readiness to hold a meeting of the economic cooperation committee of the Ukrainian-Russian interstate commission in Yalta on November 19.

He also confirmed Ukraine's readiness to hold bilateral political talks at the level of deputy foreign ministers early in December this year.

Poroshenko and Lavrov agreed a schedule for talks that will soon be held between the foreign ministries of the two countries regarding the functioning of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the delimitation of the Black and Azov Seas, and the Kerch Strait.
