Ready to stand up and stand out for justice despite severe frosts, FEMEN activists have staged a new provocative stunt against the yoke of Russia’s gas giant. Fearless and topless, the Ukrainian girls took off their clothes in front of the Gazprom building in Moscow, holding banners saying “Stop gas racket!” and “Snub Gazprom!”.

The Voice of Russia: Tymoshenko summoned to New York court A New York court has subpoenaed Ukrainian ex-PM Yulia Tymoshenko, who is now serving a prison term in Ukraine, local media reports. Universal Trading & Investment Co (UTICo), an American company who has been trying in vain to recover about $18.3 million from Tymoshenko’s United Energy Systems of Ukraine (UESU), filed a lawsuit against the former PM in November 2011. Since there was no response, UTICo asked the New York court to hear the case in the defendant's absence.

The Baltic Course: Latvia and Ukraine will enhance economic cooperation On Feb. 10, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov paid an official visit to Latvia. During the meeting with Prime Minister of Latvia Valdis Dombrovskis, the Heads of State agreed to actively enhance the economic relations between the two countries. At the conclusion of the visit, M.Azarov confirmed readiness of Ukraine to immediately address the issues, which hamper more active work of Latvian entrepreneurs in the Ukrainian market, incl., in relation to refund of the value added tax and customs procedures. National Legal Internet Portal: Belarus-Ukraine relations ‘enjoying a boom’ Belarus-Ukraine relations are in full bloom, Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov said as he met with the representatives of the Club of Editors-in-Chief of the CIS, Georgia and Baltic on Feb. 11. Today the two countries have no disagreements and develop cooperation in many areas. Mykola Azarov named agricultural projects and opening of joint companies as the most interesting themes for Ukraine. At present the two countries have no barriers in trade in food products. New Europe: Tymoshenko continues political struggle even behind bars Ukraine’s former prime minister and opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko is not giving up. On Feb. 8, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, has voted down a bill on decriminalising Article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – the one under which Tymoshenko was sentenced to imprisonment.
