Tymoshenko blames central bank, gas trade for country's woes The Cabinet of Ministers has called off its plan to re-capitalize Kyiv-based Nadra Bank because the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) won't allow the bank to be administered by a Cabinet-appointed official, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said.

"[The NBU] does not want to appoint a manager from the Cabinet [at the bank], so we decided to take [depositors from the bank] to Rodovid Bank, [which is already under the Cabinet's control]," she said at a press conference on Tuesday.

ITAR-TASS: Presidential election outcome to be decided in Ukraine west LVOV, December 15 (Itar-Tass) - The outcome of the Ukrainian presidential election that is scheduled for Jan. 17, 2010 will be decided in the west of the country, Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko is certain. She said on the Lvov television that five years ago during the “orange” revolution the decisive vote in the fate of incumbent President Victor Yushchenko was cast in the Galicia area (the Lvov, Ternopol and Ivano-Frankovsk regions). Cabinet planning to transfer frozen Nadra deposits to Rodovid by 2010 Cabinet of Ministers intends to transfer clients' deposits in Nadra Bank, one of Ukraine's largest banks, to Rodovid Bank by late 2009, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said at the meeting with Ukrprombank's depositors.

"We are planning to transfer Nadra Bank's depositors to Rodovid Bank by the end of the year," the prime minister said.

These are about 600,000 people, she added.
