You're reading: Land market should be introduced not earlier than 2013

The cancellation of a moratorium on land sales and the introduction of the agricultural land market from January 1, 2012 is not acceptable, the deputy chairman of the political council of the Our Ukraine party, MP Viktor Matchuk, considers.

According to the MP’s press service, the Our Ukraine party is “a staunch supporter of the land market."

However, Matchuk believes that this must be postponed at least until 2013, as the state must give the people guidance before introducing the land market.

"First of all, a law on the land market has not been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. Nobody saw, read and discussed it, and we are going to trade in land according to the law from January 1,” the press service said citing Matchuk, who explained the reasons for postponing the land market introduction.

According to him, another problem is that the legal and monetary valuation of land has not been performed so far, which will take more than six months.
