Ukraine and the EU will sign an agreement on the creation of a free trade area by the end of this year, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has forecast.

"We’ll sign this agreement at the end of the year," he told journalists in Kyiv on Friday.

Azarov said that the free trade area with the EU should help Ukrainian enterprises compete on the European market on equal terms, and that Ukraine was ready to supply high-quality Ukrainian products to this market.
