Ukraine is planning to supply 1.5 million tonnes of Azerbaijani oil through the Odesa-Brody pipeline and one of the branches of the Druzhba oil pipeline to the oil refinery in Kralupy (the Czech Republic) in 2012, Ukrtransnafta CEO Oleksandr Lazorko has said.

"Talks have been held, and I think that the oil will be exported in the near future," he told reporters on the sidelines of the first international oil summit in Kyiv.

Lazorko said that talks were currently being conducted with the owners of the oil refinery in the Czech Republic and Transpetrol, the operator of the Slovak part of the Druzhba oil pipeline, and that it was planned to supply about 300,000 tonnes of Azerbaijani oil to the Czech Republic by the end of this year.

Lazorko said that the oil refinery in Kralupy annually imported about 2.5 million tonnes of oil via Trieste (Italy), of which 80% was from Azerbaijan.
