Ukraine and Russia are not discussing the sale of Ukrainian assets during the ongoing negotiations on gas supply problems, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Boiko said.

"Our Russian partners have not made any demands of this kind, and our plants or other assets have not been considered" for this purpose, Boiko said in a talk show hosted by prominent journalist Yevgeny Kiselyov late on Friday.

Russia’s demands in the gas talks with Ukraine concern the operation of the Ukrainian gas transportation system and the domestic gas market, he said.

Boiko said also that he was sure that Ukraine and Russia would reach a compromise regarding the volume of gas Ukraine will buy in 2012.
