Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has urged the tax agency and other regulatory authorities to stop putting pressure on business.

"I demand that the tax and other regulatory authorities stop putting pressure on business," Yanukovych said at parliament on Tuesday, stressing that "the tax rules should be the same for everyone."

The Ukrainian president also noted that the time had come to limit the powers of regulatory agencies and stop the practice, when economic activity is terminated by the orders of officials.

Yanukovych also said he expected the Ukrainian parliament to adopt the Customs Code soon.

"I hope that the Verkhovna Rada will consider my proposals for [the Customs Code] and will pass it soon," he said.
