Ukrainian companies in January-March 2012 saw a pretax financial result from ordinary activities of UAH 8.503 billion, which is 32.8% down compared to 2011, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to the service, in January-March 2012 some 55.4% of the enterprises in Ukraine made a profit, earning UAH 49.489 billion, which is 6.4% up on the same period of 2011.
At the same time, 44.6% of the enterprises saw losses. Their losses in the first quarter of 2012 grew by 21.1% compared to 2011, to UAH 40.986 billion.
